OnePlus is going to unveil its OnePlus 7 series of phones on May 14 but it seems the top-end version in the series is already making waves. DisplayMate has awarded the OnePlus 7 Pro with A+ display rating in their lab tests. This makes the upcoming phone's display one of the best in the market. Even though the full shootout of the OnePlus 7 Pro won't be up by May 14, we now have some idea that the panel used by OnePlus will be premium. It will join the ranks alongside phones like the Samsung Galaxy S10 which has also earned an A+ rating from DisplayMate.
DisplayMate Test Lab tests various displays with professional instruments and mathematical analysis for performance and comparisons with other products. Think DxOMark, but for displays! As of now, OnePlus has only revealed that the phone offers better colour accuracy, brightness, contrast and pixel density which in turn results in a sharper and enhanced viewing experience.
In addition, OnePlus 7 Pro is also certified by VDE Testing and Certification Institute for its ability to filter blue light and will carry the Safety for Eyes certification at the time of launch.
We still don't know the kind of display panel OnePlus 7 Pro has but according to some hints by the company and previous leaks, it features a 6.7-inch QHD+ (3120 x 1440 pixels) resolution display with the 90Hz refresh rate. The higher refresh rate allows a smooth touch experience and can be helpful in games as well. Additionally, the panel is rumoured to be OLED and will be curved a bit towards the edges.
Recently, OnePlus also revealed that the OnePlus 7 Pro has three cameras on the back confirming earlier speculations. We'll know more details as the launch date nears.
