Instapaper, an online bookmarking service, announced today that it’s going independent after being acquired by Pinterest two years ago. The service is one of the first read-it-later apps that allows users to save articles and web pages to read offline on tablets, phones, and even on Kindles and other E Ink devices.
The service isn’t going to look any different, Instapaper’s team said in a press release today. The same people who have been working on Instapaper will continue to do so as they move to operating on their own. “We plan to continue offering a robust service that focuses on readers and the reading experience for the foreseeable future,” the company said.
